Put Black and Thick Packet on the Head
I’m feeling a serious migraine coming on, trying to follow the shady math, bad grammar, and surreal timelines in this English press release from the news agency of a country that doesn’t exist: MPA: Israel Arrested 40,000 Palestinian during Al-Aqsa Intifada.
GAZA, March 25, 2006 (WAFA)- Ministry of Prisoners Affairs (MPA) said Saturday that Israeli occupation has arrested 40,000 Palestinian citizens during Al-Aqsa Intifada.
In a Statistical Report Until March 2006 issued by the Statistics & Planning Department in the ministry, the report revealed that since 1967 Israeli occupation has arrested hundreds of thousands of Palestinian approximately (650 thousand), which consists about 20% of the Palestinian population in this area.
The report stated that the number of prisoners in Israeli jails until now is 9,400, distributed at 28 jails and other detentions centers as Nafha- Shatta- Al Naqub- Ofer- Majedo- Hadareem, adding that the occupation government didn’t stop arresting the Palestinians in spite of the pacification period existing since last February.
But the final paragraph contains a description of torture so graphic and horrifying that we urge the squeamish to avert their eyes. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
“70 of child prisoners are sick and in need of medical treatment. 99% of child prisoners have been subject to torture especially put black and thick packet on the head, and Shabeh position,” the report concluded.
