arab news roundup

It’s a cornucopia of incoherence, hate, and anti-Americanism at the Arab News today! First, let’s see how the ever-murkier, going-down-for-the-third-time Saudi Peace Scam is doing.

GCC seeks world support for Saudi peace scam initiative. The Gulf Cooperation Council (Oxymoron of the Year Award winner) “agreed to seek international support for a Middle East peace proposal floated by Saudi Arabia.” Well. How nice. Of course, they’re also saying stuff like this: Israeli crimes can never be forgiven.

Then you have the American loonball Arab apologist contingent: Heroic acts of Palestinians symbolize Saladin’s jihad, says author.

They also republish that vile column by John V. Whitbeck again, in case you weren’t sufficiently repulsed first time around.

And last but definitely not least, an incredibly wordy and tedious “root causes” essay blaming “America’s policies” for the 9/11 attacks and calling the hijackers “malcontents.”

Watching the United States, especially its politicians, react has been a lesson in the myopia of power and might in the face of a challenge to its hegemony.

That’s where I stopped reading.
