At Daily Kos, they’ve discovered a paid staffer for Rand Paul’s campaign posing as a left-winger and posting deceptive comments about Paul’s opponent Jack Conway: KY-Sen: Rand Paul staffer caught posing as a progressive at Daily Kos.

It’s a cost-effective strategy for an organization that isn’t too concerned with little things like scruples. One motivated troll can post a lot of sneaky comments, in a very short time, and potentially have an outsized effect on the debate. We’ve had similar situations here at LGF, usually around election times.

I suspect this dirty little tactic is a lot more common than most people realize — especially among the followers of Ron and Rand Paul, who have been real trailblazers in obsessive Internet behavior.
