Herman Cain’s Accuser Wants to Tell Her Story
Herman Cain’s absurd contradictory statements about his sexual harassment settlements have opened the door for his accusers to speak out.
A day that began with a new revelation from the presidential candidate — that there were additional “ridiculous” items in his accuser’s complaint, beyond the single incident he detailed Monday — ended with an attorney for one of the women who complained that she was sexually harassed by Cain in the 1990s requesting that the organization remove the non-disclosure language from the woman’s settlement.
Joel Bennett, the attorney, said he would contact Peter Kilgore, the NRA’s general counsel, Wednesday with his formal request to change the confidentiality provision. He contended Cain might have violated the terms of the agreement by discussing the settlement and offering some identifying details in interviews.
“I’m going to ask him to send me something in writing which says that they’re waiving the relevant paragraphs of the 1999 settlement,” Bennett told POLITICO in an interview.
