Fox News’s Heather Childers ‘Protects’ Twitter Account After Criticism

And the site to which she linked needs to get a visit from the Secret Service

Fox News anchor Heather Childers, who tweeted links to a radical right wing conspiracy website yesterday accusing Barack Obama of threatening to kill Chelsea Clinton and faking his birth certificate, has today set her Twitter account to protected.

Meanwhile, LGF reader RadicalModerate took a look at “Godfather Politics,” the site to which Heather Childers linked more than once yesterday, and discovered many comments advocating the overthrow of the US Government, and talking openly about assassinating President Obama. A couple of examples out of the deluge of insanity:

Reading that (OK, skimming. I can't force myself to fully read that filth) makes me almost as uncomfortable as when I've been in the same room as people espousing this sort of talk. I mean, it doesn't have quite the "Oh my god. What am I doing here? I need to get the hell out of here. Should I call the police/FBI/Secret Service?" feeling to it, but it's still pretty bad.

I mean, I'll admit that during some points of GWB's presidency I was pretty cross with him to the point of almost supporting impeachment, but talk of arresting or harming him? Dude, that's just fucked up.

Let us recall the central image of the Tea Party: a rebellion against a tyrannical foreign government that taxed us without representation. The notion being that the current government occupies the same position and it is our duty to overthrow them by all means necessary, including "Second Amendment remedies".

AFAIK, Obama and the current government were elected freely, fairly and democratically. So what these folks are advocating is actually sedition...

Even scarier is when you are stuck in the room with people espousing this sort of talk and they are all either active military or police. Especially when the person you'd report them to, is sitting right there saying the same things.

I take comfort from believing that they are in the minority. At least I hope they are. They are in the minority, right?
