re: #18 Backwoods_Sleuth
That’s not surprising.
Fact is that the MO AG’s office has already started a whole lot of the groundwork for a federal investigation since they’ve already tallied a whole lot of issues with the policing in the Greater STL area.
A whole bunch of these police departments operate as though minorities are a piggy bank to keep their municipalities afloat and treat minorities with tremendous disrespect.
That has to change, but it also means political reforms on top of the law enforcement reforms.

This should get a few laughs:
Conservative Christians plan protest, boycott of Dallas Cowboys over Michael Sam signing
They want to organize a football boycott. In TEXAS. Good luck with that.
Jim Burkman is the brother of the activist pushing the boycott, Jack Burkman….
“I think the idea that he is pushing legislation that is just hurtful and ridiculous is just plain stupid,” said Jim Burkman, an anesthesiologist who is openly gay. “He is not a legislator and he can’t really push legislation. I don’t think there are any cosponsors for a bill. It is just an attention grab and a media grab to pander to those folks who pay him to lobby on their behalf.”
The conservative lobbyist claims his threatened boycott would have cost the Rams “tens of millions of dollars,” a fate he said now awaits Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
I suspect that it will end up costing them 10’s of 10’s of dollars due to the boycott, but more than offset by increased sales accross the rest of the market.
FWIW, does anybody EVER remember so much attention being paid to a player signed to the taxi squad? I doubt Sam will see much, if any, NFL time, he’s too small to play inside, and too slow to play outside. Good guy I’m sure, a hell of a college player, but probably just not physically suited for the NFL.
In a way I’m reminded of what Frank Robinson said when he was hired as the first black manager in MLB. He said that the one thing he knew, he’d also be the first black manager to be fired in MLB. It’s the nature of the game.

1) reportedly on her vocal cords (OK: the cynic in me thinks they were trying to KEEP the rasp in and properly balanced…)
