Donald Trump Says He’ll Repudiate David Duke “If It Would Make You Feel Better”

Then says he doesn’t even know who David Duke is

Yesterday we noted the report by Buzzfeed’s Andrew Kaczynski that infamous white supremacist David Duke is a fan of Donald Trump, although he stops short of endorsing Trump because of his “deep Jewish connections.”

Today Trump was asked about this by Bloomberg News, and said, “I don’t want David Duke’s endorsement.”

Of course, Duke didn’t endorse him, so the point is moot. But Trump’s repudiation is some pretty weak sauce, since he says he “doesn’t need anybody’s endorsement,” and claims he doesn’t know anything about David Duke anyway. But he’ll “repudiate” Duke if it makes the reporter “feel better.” Good grief.

Donald Trump says that he does not want the endorsement of former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke and that he would “certainly” repudiate his support.

“I don’t need his endorsement, I certainly wouldn’t want his endorsement, I don’t need anybody’s endorsement,” Trump said in an interview on Bloomberg News.

Asked if he would repudiate an endorsement from Duke, he replied: “Sure.”

“I would do that if it would make you feel better,” he said, adding “I don’t know anything about him.”
