Get ready for the derp deluge, folks; it looks like the “war on Christmas” is going to be a big part of the GOP’s presidential clown show this year. Donald Trump is already raving about the latest mindless religious right persecution fantasy, that Starbucks is waging a “war on Christmas” by issuing plain red paper cups to hold coffee instead of the ones they used previously, which had images of generic winter stuff like snowflakes and ornaments — not Christian symbols. Are we supposed to think any old holiday-themed imagery is now the province of right wing Christians and can’t be tampered with?

The idiocy burns. Much more than hot coffee in a red cup.

Trump is also promising: “If I become president, we’re all going to be saying Merry Christmas again, that I can tell you.”

Is he serious? It sure sounds like it. I wonder how he plans to pull that off. He’s basically talking about trashing the First Amendment, but who’s counting the amendments he wants to throw out at this point?
