I’m not going to post the video at LGF, and I’ve redacted the name of the National Abortion Federation employee shown above for her safety, but David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress are now flagrantly violating the injunction issued by federal judge William Orrick, releasing another video on YouTube secretly shot at an NAF meeting, despite the judge’s clear order against it.

Mr. Daleiden may be going to jail even sooner than we thought.

I remember reading a story about the 9/11 hijackers and their behavior in America. Despite being strict Wahhabists (basically, God only wants you pray, breathe, and occasionally bang out kids), these guys fit in by violating every tenant of their belief system.

The rationalization was that it was ok, since in their pea brains, they were on a holy mission and God would forgive them.

Pretty sure everyone sees where I’m going with this.

No one likes paying taxes but some of us realize that without them, we wouldn’t function as a nation. Too true. Weirdly enough I had a great aunt die in 1913. I’ve talked about this before when observing modernity but three of my four grandparents had siblings die and the one who didn’t lost her mother at the age of ten and had some first cousins that died as children.

Schools mostly were local community affairs that either educated the kids of families of who didn’t need their wages to keep everybody fed (earliest federal child labor law wasn’t passed until 1916) or were private schools that catered to the children of wealthy families.

Same deal with colleges, most of those (aside from the land grant colleges) were private affairs that catered almost exclusively to the families of the rich and powerful.

The majority of the railroad structure that existed prior to 1913 either was constructed at the behest of the federal government or was in some way subsidized by it.

Most communities below the level of major cities had perhaps a small network of paved roads paid for by the locals, with the rest dirt roads that became dust farms in the summer and mud pits during the fall and winter.

Subways were again totally local affairs, most of which were small networks that connected centers of business and government, rather than the sprawling networks we know today.

And our Armed Forces were a joke in 1913, barely large enough to make us a third-rank nation. And 8 wars? Congress has only ever officially declared 5 wars, so what were the other 3?

If we don’t have the federal income tax. There’s no way we win any of the wars we win in the 20th century. A lot of the wars we won prior to 1913 were much smaller scale. And as much as I appreciate the Continental Army, we did need help to beat the British which was more outlasting than anything than outright victory.

Sloan made no secret of the fact that he distrusted “the government” and hated local sheriff’s deputies. The hand-painted signs on his barbed wire-topped fence screamed “DIRTY COPS” and “I DON’T PAY TAX,” apparently attributing the latter to the biblical book of Revelations.

Some locals say he had threatened to blow up the town.

That’s when agents and officers from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Bakersfield Police Department, FBI and other agencies served a search warrant at Sloan’s Johannesburg home on Buluwayo Avenue.

Local and federal explosives experts spent four days removing several homemade bombs, incendiary devices and booby traps from Sloan’s home and exploding them one after another in the desert outside of town.

The explosions were so powerful, some thought the shockwaves might shatter their windows.

“I think we were lucky he was caught on time,” Din said. “This was a disaster waiting to happen.”

And it’s a home-grown disaster that hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the country fear may be more likely than an attack by radicalized Muslims.
