I was wondering what it will take for the GOP supporters to realize the utter contempt their candidates have for them. It’s one thing to parrot a talking point but when that TP is so blatantly false they have to start wondering what’s going on.

I was watching a loony toon on Youtube rambling about how Scalia had a puncture wound on his chest and he was poisoned with a frozen bullet. That this was the beginning of the Republic.

I happened upon it because I was looking at Bigfoot videos. lol

Ryan’s the reason GOP lost in 2012? Hmmm.. That’s a new one Trump. This is interesting. It had nothing to do with the guy at the top of the ticket? Or the GOP voters? Or that Obama GOTV bettered that of Romney.

Interesting. Very interesting.

But lest we think Ryan’s off the hook, turns out that Ryan sucks at history too:

At least Ryan and Trump share that in common.

Oh goodie - everyone’s going to read into that new NBC/WSJ poll showing Cruz ahead of Trump. It’s a single solitary national poll, versus all the other polls showing Trump ahead by double digits, including a new USA Today poll - national and in the various state races that are upcoming.

It also figures that some of those chirping loudest over this are those who don’t get the whole crosstabs/metrics, and sample sizes along with MOE. Basic statistics.

Oh, and the same USA Today poll showing Trump up nationally also shows Hillary up by 10 over Sanders.

Never ever look for stuff like Bigfoot on YouTube. Ditto for seeds, dehydrating food, Muslims, Jews, etc. All of those things will lead you to weird CT crap within two or thee clicks and you’ll be sitting there going, “WTF? How did I…”

Even better, if you have a Google account that you’re logged into at the time, you’ll also start getting crazy shit recommended to you every time you visit YouTube.

I grow really tired of the GOP nonsense that Obama is the “worst president ever”. GW Bush is a far stronger contender for that title, although GW Bush actually doesn’t even come close.

President James Buchanan is the worst president ever, and is most unlikely to ever lose this position. Dithering while the country descended into civil war is a tough act to beat.

For extra special idiocy points, Buchanan was apparently in improper correspondence with SCOTUS justices as they were considering the Dred Scott case. Not only did Buchanan pressure a Northern judge to join with the majority to avoid a 5-4 decision split exactly along sectional lines, Buchanan also had the nerve to express in his inaugural speech the fatuous hope that the Supreme Court decision would settle the slavery issue.

So GOPers and GOP apologists, exactly how in all the flaming hells is Obama supposed to be worse than this?

Former president of Freedom Industries sentenced to 1 month in prison for chemical spill

CHARLESTON, w.va. (WSAZ) - The man at the center of a chemical spill in Charleston that contaminated drinking water for hundreds of thousands of people learned his fate Wednesday.

Gary Southern, the former president of Freedom Industries, was sentenced in federal court to one month in prison, six months supervised release and $20,000 fine to be paid in the next 15 days. He will receive time served for one night he spent behind bars in Florida.

Last August, Southern pleaded guilty to three charges, including negligent discharge of pollutant, causing a discharge of refuse and violating a condition of a clean water act permit.

He faced up to three years in prison as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. Southern faced the harshest penalty of all the executives charged in the case. Federal prosecutors recommended a sentence of 21 to 27 months. The defense sought no prison time. According to court records, Southern wanted three years probation.

The chemical spill happened on January 9, 2014 when a storage tank at Freedom Industries corroded, leaking more than ten thousand gallons of the chemical MCHM into the Elk River.

People were without safe water for a lot longer than his stinking one month joke of a prison sentence.

LOL—extortion, I’m trying to make everyone subscribe so they won’t have to see the nightmares. Speaking of jihad…

It’s been years since my elder cat slept under the blanket with me, but she’s recent decided it’s a good option, especially last week when it was cold (and I got a really nice new plush blanket). The baby (younger cat) loves to snuggle under the covers.

Last night the baby jumped up on the bed and noticed there was an odd bump under the “blankie,” so she started sniffing to investigate. You should’ve seen the “WTF???” look of shocked outrage on her face when she realized it was the other cat. She very rarely initiates an attack, but this time she immediately pounced and started batting at the lump, resulting the the other cat going ballistic. The baby wasn’t giving up because she knew the other one couldn’t scratch or bite her through the blanket.

After like the third round of increasingly raucous batting, hissing and pouncing it started getting real, with some seriously guttural I-will-cut-you growls emanating from under the blanket. I figured I was going to end up with my new blanket in tatters and possibly needing stitches on my legs if I didn’t put a stop to it, so I broke it up.

Freaking cats.

The son of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia rejected conspiracy theories that have been circulating about his father’s death in a radio interview Wednesday.

“Our family just has no doubt that he was taken from us by natural causes,” Eugene Scalia said on the conservative Laura Ingraham radio show. “We’re praying for him. We ask others to accept that and pray for him.”

If you get those creepy recommendations in your YouTube home page, click the little 3-dot link that appears when you hover over it, then click “Not interested.” Also, go into your History and delete those videos. This will prevent them from polluting your recommendations.

This is a really irritating feature of YouTube. If you watch a single Alex Jones video just to see how crazy he is, they think you REALLY LIKE Alex Jones and want to see more of his excellent stuff.

SB Nation’s statement:

“The publication of this story represents a complete breakdown of a part of the editorial process at SB Nation. There were objections by senior editorial staff that went unheeded. It was tone-deaf, insensitive to the victims of sexual assault and rape, and wrongheaded in approach and execution. There is no qualification: it was a complete failure.”

You know, considering Apple’s rather iron-fisted policies, such as the amount of control they hold over what apps can be put on their devices, the idea that they’re really worried about government intrusion on their phone users seems a bit far-fetched. What makes more sense is they’re scared shitless of a public backlash of being seen as helping the government break the encryption on one of their devices.

RWC had a nice page about how Scalia spoke well of now Justice Kagan when the vacancy that became Justice Sotomayor’s spot opened up. I was thinking of something along those lines. If you’ve thought “I’m not voting for her because she got a uterus”, but never thought “I’m not voting for him because he got a penis” then you’ve accepted male as the default.

“It was like he was having an emotional breakdown. He was calling the crew ‘white m———-s’ and then said he was going to walk out. The only thing that stopped him from actually leaving right then was that nobody had access to the freight elevator. If he’d walked out on the live show, it would have been a disaster. And the whole meltdown was just because of the floor. “

IIRC, there was a Tales From The Darkside episode in which the villain hired an assassin to deliver an earworm to a target in his home, but the assassin messed up. In the dark of night, he climbed thru the wrong second story bedroom window.

25+ years of getting hammered by everyone will do that to you.

It may sound crazy, but that is one of the traits I do like about her. She keeps coming back for more. She is strong and she can take it. I find that admirable.

And, I wonder how people would see Bernie if they had to hear about every negative thing about him according to RWNJ thinking created by Rush Limbaugh and the gang for the same 25 years? They are going to get a sampler taste of it as this all goes on…and if Bernie gets the nomination they will get the full meal of commie this, commie that, dreamer, crazy, Jewish and you know about them.

But nothing like ‘baggage’ as first definition of character and usually said by people that know nothing in depth about that baggage other than they are just sick of hearing it. And by being sick of hearing about it makes them sick of Hillary.

Thems the facts as far as I can tell…and I am sticking to ‘em.

Would the fact that Kasich comes in 5th in their primary question but beats Clinton by more than any of the other Republicans in their general question raise any doubts about the accuracy?

10. If the Republican Primary for President of the United States were held today, who would be your
first choice to win the Republican nomination? {RANDOMIZE LIST}
(N=358) n %
Jeb Bush —————————————————————————————- 20 5.59
Ben Carson ———————————————————————————— 13 3.63
Ted Cruz —————————————————————————————- 72 20.11
John Kasich ———————————————————————————- 25 6.98
Marco Rubio———————————————————————————- 60 16.76
Donald Trump——————————————————————————124 34.64
Other ————————————————————————————————— 0 0.00
Undecided ————————————————————————————- 44 12.29

Then:

Clinton 43.10 vs Trump 44.69
Clinton 41.60 vs Rubio 47.50
Clinton 43.90 vs Cruz 45.20
Clinton 38.00 vs Kasich 49.40

Doesn’t make any sense to me—what am I missing?

Looking at the tables, it looks like Kasich is the only candidate where he picks up the majority of the self-described “moderates” - as well as (slightly) more of the “liberal” and “very liberal” voters.

Whether that is because people are unfamiliar with him or what, I don’t know.

More undecideds in the “moderates” between Kasich and Bernie, at about 16% - and the split is a lot more even.

Which could again argue that you’re dealing with people who are somewhat less familiar with the candidates

Dexter's New Approach  Feb 17, 2016 • 4:55:56pm

Kasich said he wants a full US war to “destroy” ISIS. Then just leave. Easy peasy. I guess it won’t cost much, with practically no US casualties (who cares about civilian losses, right?) The Kurd, Shia, an Sunni folks will just work things out among themselves civilly like they always do. No terrorist/ISIS recruitment opportunities there.

If only there was a similar situation to review to judge the wisdom of this strategy.

And he’s gonna arm Ukraine and dare Putin.
And, while he’s at it, poke China hard.
And he’s the moderate one.

I just don’t get how you go from 25 total people picking Kasich as their primary choice to him blowing the doors off if he were the general candidate—beating Hillary by more than any other Republican. Hell, the only matchup where they show a Dem winning is Bernie over Cruz.

I am suspicious of this poll.
