Neo-Nazis and Anti-Fascist Protesters Clash in Sacramento; Multiple Injuries Reported
In California, confrontations between neo-Nazi groups and anti-fascist protesters have been getting increasingly violent lately, and today in Sacramento at a rally organized by the “Traditionalist Worker Party” multiple people were stabbed and beaten.
The Traditionalist Working Party — which supposedly has ties to white supremacy groups — held a permitted rally at the Capitol Sunday afternoon. The group was met by counter protestors. According to the Sacramento Police Department, multiple people were injured and an unconfirmed number were stabbed.
The Sacramento Police Department is advising motorists to take alternative routes if traveling near the capitol this afternoon.
Sacramento PD said L Street between 10th and 15th Streets and 10th Street between N and L Streets are closed for traffic control during Capitol protest.
White supremacist Matthew Heimbach tweeted this photo earlier of some of the Nazi knuckle-draggers getting ready for their rally.
Just some of our brave comrades preparing to march today in California. Hail the TWP and GSS. United, we will win! pic.twitter.com/NoaB72Ts4v
