President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial continues for a second day beginning at noon EST on Feb. 10. House Democrats will present evidence demonstrating why they believe Trump should be convicted for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Trump was impeached by the House last month while still in office, the first president ever to be impeached twice, on a single charge of incitement of insurrection. It was a largely party-line vote, but 10 Republicans also joined Democrats in condemning the president for stoking violence. After the first day of the Senate trial was spent debating whether lawmakers had authority to impeach a president no longer in office, a power supported by many conservative and liberal law scholars, six Republicans sided with Democrats in voting to proceed with the trial. Democrats will need to win over more Republicans in order to convict Trump, which requires a two-thirds majority vote.

Larry Flynt really pushed the buttons of American fundamentalists. When we look back at America of the 20th century, the stronghold of puritanical religious inclinations merged strongly with right-wing political ideology.

So I’m glad that people like Flynt came along to challenge that.

But also I’m reminded of this: a great deal of so-called “adult” images (still and video) are highly exploitive of vulnerable women.

Today there is a counter movement by some women in fighting back by making self-produced self-financed erotica. More power to them. They are striving to avoid the old problems of criminal-organization type of buisness model.

Yet there remains worldwide the reality that much sexually explicit material is just using vulnerable women (and men.)

Need to kill or maim a few more Montanans, and deny them compensation. Good job electing a libertarian for governor, Montana (one who should have gone to jail for assault on a Guardian reporter, not to Congress as a representative).

Yet 5 people died little over a month ago, and Trump not only watched, everybody around him has said he cheered it on and was confused when nobody else joined him.

I can’t get in the head of Mike Pence, but if Trump had tried to murder me, I would want to testify and urge GOP Senators to convict. It’s not like he is ever going to be President anyway.

But I was watching for about an hour this afternoon and saw managers strain to say “it was the President and not you” to the senatorial audience. Greetings! Here’s a look at the forecast for southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle through Monday. An Arctic boundary that has been over the Nebraska Panhandle and parts of the southeastern plains the past several days, is forecast to shift west Thursday. Colder temperatures spread west behind the front. One thing we want to point out for Friday is the Snowy and Sierra Madre Ranges could get very heavy snowfall, up to 2-3 feet on north and east facing slopes. Lower elevations of Carbon and Albany Counties could see 3-5 inches. Travel impacts could be high Thursday night through Saturday morning along and west of the Laramie Range. If you’re traveling during this time, expect travel delays and severe winter weather. Brutally cold Friday and Saturday with high temperatures struggling to get above 0F across our eastern areas. Overnight lows falling as cold as 25 below zero for areas east of the Laramie Range Sunday morning. Expect dangerously cold windchill readings and expect Windchill Warnings to be in effect both days. Finally see some relief Monday as winds begin to turn westerly and begin to pick up in speeds. If planning travel over the next several days, be ready for some harsh winter weather. That is pretty. I don’t know what it means, but it illustrates a troubling trend: lack of boys in choir. Chorus was by far the best experience I had in high school.

HypnoToad has received his first dose for COVID19; 0.3 ml of the Pfizer vaccine.

Day before yesterday, a friend called my sister and told her about a vaccination site recently set up at Cal Poly University, and said there were still appointments available on the California state site. calvax@myturn.ca.gov HypnoSister called me shortly after and we both were able to log on (Separately from several miles apart) and snag appointments within five minutes of each other! Went down together to find a fairly large operation with a couple of thousand waiting, a staff of 200+ directing parking and registration, along with significant security (20+ police along with more university security)

It was very efficiently run; I felt like I was waiting for my pass at ComicCon registration in line #8 out of 16 total. We were in and out in less than an hour; including the 15 minute waiting period after getting the injection. Lots of professional signage, herding barriers, social distance markers, and easily available staff answering questions. Everybody, staff and public were in an upbeat mood. The medical staff was also friendly, even though they said they were pulling 12 hour shifts! At least for here in So Cal, this bodes well for the future!
