I got inspired to compose this song while playing the video game Uncharted 4. One of the characters yelled out “false alarm!” and I thought it was catchy. I created the chord progression and bassline on the piano before “translating” it to fingerstyle guitar.

And I’m back from picketing, but you know, folks, it’s BAD out there. I got criticized over my mask: “you follow the government.” I was sharp with this guy—I told him I wore a mask so that I could protect my elderly mother. A woman told me that I couldn’t comment about their church because I wasn’t a member of any church. I told her I paid more taxes so this church could be tax exempt and I was exercising my First Amendment rights.

And yeah, I got to talk to the target of my protesting, but his defense for what he did is that he has to follow the Bible (specifically, Matthew 18) and his sin was not going to one guy’s elders first before publicly criticizing him. There’s no talking to someone who can’t think outside of the box, or, more appropriately, outside the bubble of his particular interpretation of the Bible. I mean, seriously, folks, this is why abuse gets covered up in churches, because there are these rules that benefit the leaders, and harm those who are not at the top of the heap.

I found the whole thing to be very unsettling, I think we’re in for a rough time. I wish I didn’t have to say this but there’s a lot of things that are very wrong right now, very wrong.

ETA: Just another note. I’m self-identified autistic, because at 62 YO, why am I going to pay to get a disability diagnosis? One of the many symptoms that I’ve always had is face blindness. When Costi Hinn came out, I didn’t recognize him. I had to ask. He basically gave the impression that I should at least be able to recognize the person I’m protesting. Uhm, no, I told him, I’m face blind. Anyway, blergh, the whole thing was blergh.

When the classified documents news broke, I started to get hopeful that Trump might actually be indicted soon.

That hope is pretty much gone now. I’m back to thinking he’s never going to face consequences, because how could they let him continue spreading hate and inciting violence like this otherwise? They have enough evidence to charge him with dozens of serious crimes at this point, and he’s still walking around thumbing his nose at them.

Meanwhile in the Southern Ukraine, part of the Russian defenses may have collapsed.

Notes:
1. The Russian defenses in the vicinity of the red arrow seem to be in full retreat.
2. The Ukrainians (red arrow) are in full pursuit so that the Russians cannot reorganize and dig in at Dudchany.
3. Dudchany is where the yellow line meets the Dnieper River.
4. The purple arrow is the Ukrainian advance to catch the retreating forces in the rear and block them
5. The green circle is an area where the Russian military may get encircled.

When a hurricane would hit Cuba*, I would start freezing 1 gal water jugs as part of my hurricane watch - the number depending on the projected path.

You have to remove ~12 oz of water to allow room for ice expansion. Bags of ice are a waste of freezer space & money - you can’t drink the water after the bag of ice melts.

The 1 gal jugs of ice take longer to melt, and allow better triage of which frozen foods to eat next.

*If you live in FL, when a hurricane hits Cuba, that’s your cue to go fill up your vehicles with fuel.
