Republicans have more covid deaths then non-Republicans because it turns out that performative stupidity is, in fact, a characteristic associated with greater disease and death. Any further analysis is pretty much superfluous.

One might as well puzzle over whether this performative stupidity is because the wingnut God Emperor Trump is Lucifer incarnate, or the incarnation of some lesser demon (Belphegor is my pick).

It’s clearly more politically useful to do this now instead of on day 1, because of the short attention span of way too many voters. And we need Democrats to do politically savvy things to help fend off the Republican menace in the next election.

There’s an art to practical politics. Doing marijuana BEFORE covid vaccine distribution, Covid fund relief and the two infrastructure bill would have made it impossible for the latter to occur.

Policy is like baking. The order of steps actually matters.

Eric Weinberg, who was an executive producer and writer on hit US comedy series Scrubs, has been charged with 18 counts of sexual assault.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney said Mr Weinberg “relied on his Hollywood credentials to lure young women for photo shoots where he allegedly sexually assaulted them”.

The alleged incidents, dated between 2014 and 2019, involved five women.

His lawyer has previously called the accusations a “blatant smear campaign”.

Set in a hospital, Scrubs ran on TV from 2001 to 2010 and won two primetime Emmy Awards. It starred Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke.

Mr Weinberg’s other TV work includes the US series Californication and Anger Management.

The 62-year-old was arrested in July and has since been re-arrested and released from police custody after posting a $5m (£4.4m) bond.

UMass football hosting Pride Day during game against Liberty University

For the first time ever, UMass Football will host a “pride day” to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

UMass Football wins home opener against Stony Brook, 20-3
It comes with some speculation for Saturday’s game, it was chosen because they were playing against Liberty University an evangelical school. A member of UMass Athletics said this was a clear coincidence with only a handful of home games to choose from and this has been something they wanted to do before the pandemic. [a likely story, emphasis added ]

Pride Day is in collaboration with UMass’s Stonewall Center which provides LGBTQIA+ resources as well as programming for students. Liberty University’s Honor Code bans same-sex couples from showing displays of affection like holding hands.

RATS! Made ratatouille tonight but neglected to get any pictures.
It was pretty good in my modest opinion and (perhaps more importantly) easy to make. Besides the requisite squash and zucchini, I used red and green bell peppers and roma tomatoes, all fresh. As an experiment, I added ordinary American breakfast sausage on top instead of the usual Italian sausage. I stayed with mozzarella over that. I have finally figured out that this dish does not need any kind of liquified tomato stuff (pasta sauce, tomato paste etc.). I did add some garlic.

The ratatouille my sister makes is strictly vegan. We had it for dinner last night over pasta. Hers includes eggplant and onion plus a bay leaf for flavoring. Before serving, she spent over 5 minutes searching for the bay leaf to remove it so that no one would be unfortunate enough to discover it as part of their meal. It was outstanding.
