I received a response from Hampton Inn’s general manager in Mitchell, SD regarding the gun incident.

She apologised for the incident, iterated that the man was in violation of their hotel’s gun policy (guns must be cased), and refunded my money for my stay at the hotel (that’s over $200).

She also said they’ve held training today for staff to remind them and guests of Hampton Inn’s policies regarding firearms.

I sent one of my Canadian friends that story about the the Tennessee woman who had to take the 6 hour ambulance ride to North Carolina to get medical care and my friend (who is a woman) was absolutely stunned. Like could not believe this was happening in a developed nation.

This is how much of the rest of the world looks at the U.S. these days. It’s disgraceful.

Italian former professional cyclist Mario Cipollini has been sentenced to three years on prison for domestic abuse charges brought against him by his now-ex-wife Sabrina Landucci and her new partner, Silvio Giusti. In addition to the prison sentence, an Italian court has also fined Cipollini—best known as Cipo in the pro world—85,000 Euros.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cipollini committed “a series of acts damaging the physical and mental integrity of his ex-wife with punches, slaps, kicks, with injuries, and death threats.”

According to Wielerfliets, a Dutch paper, the judge in the case noted that Cipollini mistreated, threatened and stalked his ex-wife “over a period from the end of 2016 to the beginning of 2017,” including an incident where he pressed a gun to her forehead.

And now we know why Trump was desperate to try and hide those conversations. He knew the FBI and DOJ would see still more evidence of crimes, and those would not be subject to privilege due to the crime fraud exception.

You can’t use your attorney to engage in criminal conduct and then claim that the documents/conversations are not discoverable under attorney-client privilege. That’s not how it works.

Hyundai drives ARE the worse (in FL)! I commute over an hour every day, and when someone is in the left lane driving under the speed limit, it’s almost always a Hyundai (2nd place is a pickup truck, 3rd place is a mini-van).

I never saw a Tesla in my life until we got down from Northern Québec at the St. Lawrence. Every last one of them was an ass (tailgaiting, cutting off traffic, no signals, running traffic lights, &c), all the way from there to Toronto.

I’m thinking this “Canadian nice” thing doesn’t apply to Tesla owners.

Speaking of cars, ours goes into the shop Monday to survey and repair the damage from our trip. We’ll be back in a rental car again (not a Tesla).

Thankfully LGF Spy scales well when I use one of those font-changing applications for Chrome. LGF Spy seems to behave well.

Not all websites do. Youtube is tricky. Twitter works pretty well with making fonts larger. Amazon not so much.
