Today’s program from our podcasting affiliate, The Bob Cesca Show:

I Never Quit — Kevin McCarthy resigns from Congress, as we predicted. Mike Johnson says God told him he’s Moses during a Red Sea moment. Hannity asked Trump if he plans to be a dictator. The news is the question, not the answer. Trump promises free cars and homes for everyone. Kash Patel and Steve Bannon confirm everything we’ve been warning about for months. Vivek says January 6 was an inside job. Chris Christie destroys Vivek. The biggest chicken and tuna companies found guilty of price fixing. Biden forgives 80,000 more student loans. With Jody Hamilton, David Ferguson, music by KingCyborg, The Well-Known Strangers, and more!

Oh my!

Fox News Goes Absolutely Nuclear on ‘Court Jester’ Vivek Ramaswamy

Ramadamadingdong really pissed off Screwpert!

After having already replaced Vivek as the preferred alt-Trump, the conservative cable giant is now actively pouring dirt on his campaign’s grave.

Fox News is sending a crystal-clear message to GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy after his latest “unhinged” debate performance: It’s time to go.

“Court jester,” one Fox News star described Ramaswamy on Thursday. “A jerk,” another Fox personality called him. “Embarrassing,” the denizens of Fox News’ flagship morning show declared about the White House hopeful.

Just a few months ago, the 38-year-old “anti-woke” biotech entrepreneur had seemingly taken over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ spot as the conservative cable giant’s favored Donald Trump alternative in the Republican presidential primary. At the time, the network, which often acts as the GOP’s de facto comms arm, gushed over his ability to rap Eminem lyrics while touting the media-savvy contender’s rising poll numbers.

However, the debates happened and Ramaswamy’s self-professed “unhinged” strategy—which largely involved insulting the other candidates while cosplaying as 4chan right-wing edgelord—quickly wore out its welcome. Before long, Fox News pivoted its support to a Republican establishment candidate, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, an ex-Trump official.

Despite losing the Fox News support and seeing his poll numbers crater as the first primaries approach, Ramaswamy’s increasingly futile campaign has marched onward. In an apparent attempt to drum up support from the fringe-right who’ve long abandoned Fox for not being MAGA enough, the fame-hungry hedge-funder has even fundraised off his “disaster” interview with Fox star Sean Hannity, who demolished Ramaswamy on the air.

Look, I’m a Christian. I absolutely believe in divine calling. But let’s be clear: God doesn’t do this. If you’re waking up in the middle of the night believing you’re hearing the voice of God, you really need to be evaluated by a mental professional.

I’ve said it before, but God’s “voice” - as much as it is real for those of us who believe; I’m leaving aside any discussion of whether or not God exists for the moment - is more what you’d call general guidelines than an actual voice. Christians infer the voice of God from a sense of supernatural peace we feel when contemplating choices we are confronted with. If you are literally hearing what you think is the “voice of God,” you are having a bad time and you should not go to space today. Or ever.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogue and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

hauntingly, 3 of those folks would be out of their minds shortly thereafter. Peter Green would spend his time wanting to only play “Black Magic Woman” during live performances, Spencer would wind up joining some completely unhinged cult in California, and Danny Kirwan would suffer so badly from alcoholism that he’d wind up living for a time in the London Tube system. There’s a wonderful story about somebody serendipitously buying his guitar and then getting it back to the family. He only knew because he opened it up to do some work on a pick-up and Danny actually had his name in the cavity (I may be misremembering that story a bit, but it’s still kind of cool that his guitar was wandering around London for years with no one knowing its provenance).
