Fani Willis hints more plea deals could be forthcoming for Trump’s GA co-defendants

Oh do tell us, Fani!!!!! 😉

It’s possible that plea deals may be in the works for co-defendants like Robert Cheeley, Harrison Floyd and David Shafer. However, the Guardian reported in November that there are no plans to secure deals from the highest-profile targets including former President Donald Trump, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

Until tonight (or soon) the only access Schrader has had to mice was when he lived in the bike shop, his first 6 months. The mice went away, but I never knew of any caught.

Schrader’s been off his feed a bit. The woman across the hall gets a delivery from Chewy twice a month, and whatever her cat won’t eat, goes to the free zone in the lobby. She put 8 cans of ‘Tiki’ cat food out two weeks ago. I picked one up and Schrader tried it. He ate it so fast and thoroughly, I grabbed the other 7 cans. By can 4, he was done with that. He nibbled at his usual Fancy Feast, picky about the flavors and preferring a freshly-opened can. He’s an old cat, so I’m going to spoil him with mouse, and/or anything else he will eat. I got a few other cans at the fancy pet store, I just noticed one of them is sardine mousse. You can probably guess my next thought.

I like those cans of X + mouse. I would wager a lot of canned human food contains mouse which is not on the label.

There were a few brands of rabbit. I passed on that.

I helped butcher a few rabbits when I was a kid.

You probably don’t want to know what is permitted in filth levels in US food. Rats/ton of grain, etc.

I was wondering if the Pentagon had a work around for congressional obstruction.
4.5 billion is enough to keep Ukraine going through the winter. Longer if Lockheed and Honeywell give them Friends and Family discounts on their purchases.

Since the Senate has approved a Ukraine aid package, the House gets to decide if they want to negotiate border concessions and grant further aid to Ukraine or step on the military complex’s financial dick.

I know I originally saw it on NJTV PBS Jews of the Wild West is a pretty good documentary. It is very fitting to watch it again on the last night of Chanukah.

Louis Armstrong Schools Racist MC on the Dick Cavett Show

When I was in high school, I had an overnight babysitting job with 3 kids. Their mom got the first divorce in the neighborhood, and took a graveyard shift in a factory. I’m pretty sure I’d remember if I was doing it 5 days a week. Three a week, probably. I’d stay up until the kids were asleep, plus a couple of hours. I saw a lot of Dick Cavett while that was going on. Some of it went over my head.

So it does come down to: almost all of modern American Christianity has nothing to do with the message of the Gospels, but rather the message of wealthy people who are fanatically opposed to anything that helps the poor. I am not a Christian but it does seem that one cannot be a faithful Christian and a modern Republican; the two philosophies are diametrically opposed to each other.

I had to make a trip to Walgreen’s this afternoon to buy candles. Had only 3 left (was using candles purchased in prior years) and was lucky they still had boxes available.

One of my sisters sent Mom and I a no-tools-required “fake” Christmas tree, came in the mail yesterday. There hasn’t been a Christmas tree erected in that house in decades. Frankly I found it a little weird. Mom said she was going to put it up today but she never did.

Mom put it up today.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Mrs J is still down with covid. She rallied a little today but a little activity soon wore her back down. She took a little soup just now, the mushroom soup sans the creme fraiche. Good stuff, recipe via Backwoods Sleuth, maybe. I disremember. I may have overshot the paprika a wee bit.

I had the opposite problem: after filling up the last-night menorah, I found I had 3 candles left over. Odd, because I had been diligent about only using the same box of candles - should have been only one (45 to the box).
Oh well, a Hanukkah Miracle, I suppose….
