JodyPAC — The Supreme Court hears oral arguments about the 14th Amendment and Trump’s eligibility to be president again. How will the Supreme Court land on this issue? Office vs Officer. Fox News aired a live hate crime on TV. Curtis Sliwa is a clown. 74 percent of Republicans want a dictator. Republicans can no longer claim to be pro-democracy or pro-Constitution. House Republicans failed to impeach Mayorkas. Republicans blocked the bipartisan border security bill. Biden documents probe ends without charges. Nikki Haley lost the Nevada primary, but gave us some great material for anti-Trump, anti-Republican ads. Buh-bye Marianne Williamson. With Jody Hamilton, David Ferguson, music by Vixen Noir, Tim Russ, and more!

Is TFG guilty of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after an election on January 6th, 2021?

Yes.

Did he act alone, or in cooperation with others?

He conspired with others.

Was this a Seditious Conspiracy to overthrow the legally elected government of the U.S.?

OFFS, of course it was.

Did the change to the 14th Amendment Part 3, of the Constitution mention Jefferson Davis by name or position?

No.

Was Jefferson Davis a former officer of the United States?

Yes.

So, according to TFG’s attorneys, Jefferson Davis, the former President of the Confederate States, could have run for President after the Civil War (War of Yankee Aggression/The Recent Unpleasantness/ The Lost Cause).

Absolutely!

OK. Got it. Makes perfect sense.

The various expert observers are starting to weigh in on the decision by the Special Counsel to pull a ‘Comey’.

Andrew Weissman : Special Counsel report entirely inappropriate. It sounds like a repeat of Comey. DOJ role to charge, or not to charge. Not to provide gratuitous adjectives.

Sounds like the weather this evening is supposed to be kind of interesting for Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois and for the Michigan mitten tomorrow. And then according to one model run, 8-10 inches of snow Sunday in the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles.

Define “interesting”. We’re not expecting much beyond the tail end of the rain (and maybe a little snow) and then back to our typical early February cold, down from the record high temperatures set this week.

I will admit I am a little concerned that Biden couldn’t directly recall when he started as vice president and when his term ended. Some people do age faster than others. My dad was still sharp as a whip at 88 when it came to questions of theology, but he didn’t have the encyclopedic grasp of sources that he did when he was 58. (Believe me, I grew up with that man. It was like living in a house with a rabbi.) I think Biden is still perfectly capable of handling the big stuff, but yeah, I very much wish he was 61 at the moment.

@jonmladd.bsky.social

The Republican special prosecutor, who served in the Trump administration, couldn’t find enough evidence to charge Biden with anything. But he has some partisan talking points on a totally different subject that he’d like to insert into the campaign information stream. So here they are.

They’re all a bunch of sharks, and they smelled blood in the water. Biden had his dander up because the report was borderline libelous. (Which reminds me, has everyone forgotten that he has a speech impediment, and that it’s highly likely that it gets worse when he is stressed and angry?) They wanted to take advantage of him while he was vulnerable, get sound bites to make him look like a scared old man.

It’s almost like there’s some kind of larger cultural thing in which Americans despise debility and mental problems but are perfectly comfortable with malice and cruelty, and the press replicates this geist by finding “reasons” that Trump being a domineering, violent person isn’t pathological while wholly accepting that amorphous non-diagnostic assessments of health must be taken as signs of inability to perform.

Exactly. And here’s another view that lines up with what I’m thinking (yes, I know Palmer Report has been somewhat controversial in the past, but lately most of his predictions are indeed coming true):

Biden just delivered a masterclass in how to make a fake scandal go away. There’s obviously nothing wrong with his memory, or he wouldn’t have been able to go on TV and deliver such a powerful and masterful press conference - which of course is why he did it. If the media now goes and writes that Biden supposedly has memory problems, after he just outwitted them in a press conference, they’ll look like complete idiots.

By November, no persuadable voters are going to remember that some no-name special counsel issued a report questioning Joe Biden’s memory. But they are going to see a fully senile Donald Trump on television, confusing his attorney for a refrigerator. This isn’t going to be a “both sides” thing, no matter how badly the media wants it to be.

This feels worse than a simple gaffe. Biden’s response tonight has its own problems, ending with a mistake that underscores the crap being thrown at him. He was great until the very end and that mistake (confusing Sisi) iwhich undercut so much good work he had done on the issue.

There is still time but Biden may have some real work coming to just get back to where he was yesterday.

Yeah, I think people forget 2012 where Obama was a far younger man than Biden and yet every other story was about how polls showed he was massively unpopular compared to 2008 and speculated about how the party would abandon him for a far more popular candidate if he didn’t lean hard to left.

This seems to be almost a political Rorschach test: If you’re looking to say that Biden handled this well then you point out that the press isn’t commenting on his one mistake, but if you think he handled it poorly then you point out that they’re calling him “angry” and repeating the accusation that he has memory problems.

It s not just here.

CNN:

Biden slams Hur’s depiction of him and misspeaks: The president tore into the special counsel’s depiction of him as an elderly man who was absent-minded in interviews during hastily scheduled remarks at the White House Thursday night. But just minutes after defending his memory and cognition, Biden misspoke and called President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi the “president of Mexico,” a moment that undercut his forceful pushback against the report.

The Hill:

But, as if to underscore the concerns raised by the special counsel, Biden in response to a final question regarding the Israel-Hamas war, question mistakenly referred to the “president of Mexico, Sisi,” when referring to the president of Egypt.

You know. I bet this is true and it made me tear up. Such a good man, being asked to do some of the most important things of the last 50 years, at an age he should be allowed to enjoy himself and not care about what he says. But we need him so, so much.

I’m sorry if I have been a typical Democrat tonight. I have some stuff going on in my own life where I feel I have little control and have lost some perspective and balance. Kid thought he was clever making and passing around simulated nudes of underage classmates. Such a bad idea.

A New Jersey high school student who found herself the unwitting subject of AI-generated deepfake porn circulated last fall on Snapchat is fighting back against the bogus photos with a very real federal lawsuit—which accuses one of her own classmates of perpetrating the lewd con.

In it, 15-year-old “Jane Doe” says a fellow pupil at Westfield High School identified as “K.G.” used an AI app to make her appear fully nude in perfectly innocent pictures he downloaded off social media. Doe is asking for $150,000 per “intimate visual depiction,” plus an injunction and temporary restraining order prohibiting K.G. from further disseminating the offending material.

“Based on the timing of the events at issue in this case and the photos appearing on her Instagram account at such time, Jane Doe believes that the original photo [K.G.] used to create a nude image or images of her was taken when Jane Doe was 14 years old and depicts her posing for a picture taken by another person in a public setting in which Jane Doe’s face and the entire front side of her (clothed) body, including her chest and pelvis, are visible,” states the lawsuit, which was filed Feb. 2 and has not been previously reported.

K.G. also victimized “several other minor girls” with similarly manipulated “nudes” taken from their social media accounts, according to the lawsuit. All of them were clothed in the original images, it says.

Dunno: if the station hasn’t aired in six years, I’m guessing that licensing issues are likely to be well down on their list of problems .

And while *stealing* a 200-foot radio antenna might be a bit of a challenge, it’s likely the local entrepreneurs in the scrap metal mineral recycling industry will be quite helpful in keeping it out of the trash….
