Guess Who comes in to defend Trump and his Bible Scam?
USA Bible founder says Trump endorsement means he believes ‘same thing’ as every American
Amid the controversy of Donald Trump endorsing, promoting, and reportedly earning royalties from the “God Bless the USA Bible,” Lee Greenwood, the creator of the book, is speaking out to defend the ex-president.
He says there’s no difference between when Trump took the presidential oath of office by placing his hand on a bible, and now endorsing Greenwood’s version of the book, which sells for $59.99.
“You have to remember that when President Trump took his oath of office, he put his hand on a Bible to swear that he would defend the country and the Constitution,” says Greenwood, a singer-songwriter whose “God Bless the U.S.A.” has been used by many Republicans over the past few decades, with Trump playing it at his rallies.
Greenwood, speaking on the far-right media outlet Real America’s Voice, also says that Trump’s endorsement merely telegraphs that he believes the “same thing” that every other American believes.

Is it making him any money? It was too bizarre for some of the religious extremists that had been supporting the madman, so it would need to be very financially profitable to be worth shaving off some of his crazy fans.

Hart, 47, who starred in Nickelodeon’s “Clarissa Explains It All” from 1991 to 1994, shared on Thursday’s episode of the “Meghan McCain Has Entered The Chat” podcast that she never experienced the same trauma at the network, but is still standing by the alleged victims.
“I don’t know other people’s experiences and I’m not negating anything anybody else says. I’ve never been told these people’s stories that are in the (documentary). you get hauled before a grand jury, plead the fifth on everything. plead the fifth when they ask you to confirm your name at the start. your lawyer isn’t allowed in there with you. you can technically ask to leave during questioning to ask your lawyer how you should respond to something, but the chances of you getting ambushed are enormous. so I can’t really blame them here.

‘Get on a plane’: Danish minister urged to meet Greenland coil scandal women
In an attempt to reduce the population of the former Danish colony, at least 4,500 women and girls are believed to have undergone the medical procedure, usually without their consent or knowledge, at the hands of Danish doctors between 1966 and 1970 alone.
The total number of those affected by the procedures, thought to have continued for decades, is understood to be far higher. Victims and their lawyers say generations of Inuit women were left traumatised and suffering reproductive complications, including infertility, as a result of the Danish state’s policy.

When Trump gets up and rambles on about stolen elections and starts his fascist rantings…. what will the TV networks do?
Will they run lower thirds debunking Trump?
And what will the GOP talking heads, sent out afterwards to appear on the TV screens, say about what Trump did just 30 minutes prior?
At what point will the media corporations who own these broadcast networks simply give in to Trump and not have the networks question Trump or the GOP operatives?

The GOP as we know it now will be destroyed someday. Of that, I have no doubt. The problem is, right now, “How much pain are we going to go through before we get there?” The answer varies wildly between “an uncomfortable amount, but survivable,” and, “way too fucking much,” depending on how things go over the next about 2 years or so.

That brings back some very fond memories of watching what was the first blockbuster mini-series shown on TV. I was working at my first professional job post college and it was the topic of conversation the next day. It truly was a national phenomena. It made LeVar Burton and CIcely Tyson, super stars. Looking at the cast today, it is astonishing how many well known actors appeared in the series. There have been many such series since but I don’t believe any of them have surpassed Roots in quality.

OK, back from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Overall, not bad. It’s 100% pure escapism of course. A popcorn flick (which is exactly what I had- popcorn and a beer) with some callbacks to films like Destroy All Monsters and other films from the Big G’s Showa series that Godzilla fans would recognize immediately. I’d give it a 3 out of 5. A good matinee film to catch at your local cinema, provided your local theatre does matinee showings. The human story is…OK, I guess. Of course, the actors are there to delivery expository dialogue, which they do well. The real fun is in all the kaiju action - cities leveled, iconic monuments laid waste, popular tourist destinations no doubt left uninhabitable for at least a century to come.
All in all, it’s what you’d expect from a Big Dumb Movie.

re: #102 Belafon
Pacific Rim was a damn good film (the sequel not so much), Guillermo del Toro’s love letter to the kaiju genre. Goes to show when you have a director who knows and loves what they’re doing, even a kaiju flick can still be highly entertaining and tell a good story.

One lesson I learned.
When whoever you are talking to about whatever you are attempting to fix/correct/ undo says NO, they depend on 1 out of 10 walking away without a fight.
Then the shift manager gives them an “Atta boy! GREAT job!” and slides them a a Burger King coupon.
Argue, fight, and ask to go up the ladder till they weary of you.
Make their day a lesson on customer satisfaction.
They will suck time from you, so how upset are you?
The people you speak to are low on the ladder. Don’t be mean to them, tell them if they were treated as such, how would they feel.
The people you meet on the way to the people you need to meet are the friends you need.
Sometimes…..
Unless………………..they deserve it. And they are there also.

The office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said it began looking into Spirit AeroSystems because of “apparent manufacturing defects” in parts that “have led to numerous concerning or dangerous incidents.”Paxton asked the Wichita, Kansas-based supplier to turn over documents produced since the start of 2022 about communication with investors and Boeing about flaws in parts and corrective steps the company took.
The request goes into detail in seeking internal discussions around Spirit’s efforts to create a diverse workforce “and whether those commitments are unlawful or are compromising the company’s manufacturing processes.” Paxton asked for a breakdown of Spirit’s workforce by race, sexual orientation and other factors, and whether the makeup has changed over time.
