Video: Stormy Daniels Menaced by MAGAs for Telling Truth: ‘Trump Is Trying to Make an Example Out of Me’

Law • Views: 13,306

Here’s another clip from Rachel Maddow’s interview with Stormy Daniels, on the nightmarish harassment directed at her by Trump and his crazed supporters.

In an exclusive interview with Rachel Maddow, Stormy Daniels talks about how Donald Trump and his followers have terrorized, menaced, and tried to ruin her financially for telling the truth about her encounter with Trump, targeting not just herself but her family and loved ones with no support or protection from the justice system that put her in the way of Trump’s wrath.

It’s really disappointing to see some of the journalists I’ve respected (and there aren’t many these days) eagerly join in on the GOP/media ratfucking of Joe Biden.

This is why Republicans do this shit: 1) because it works, and 2) even their targets sometimes help them do it.

Media just want eyeballs on their stories. That’s why they love Trumps insanity so much.

It’s also why they’ll beat the “Biden must step down” so bad it will put a dead horse to shame.

It’s about money, not ethics.

There’s a reason all the Red rags are pimping articles (some, like the NYT article yesterday are complete fabrications) calling for Biden to drop out - it would be a huge f’in mistake for Democrats and their chances. The red state GOP legal legions backed by the Calvinball court already have lawsuits locked and loaded to keep any replacement off the ballots in most swing states.
Biden sometimes has bad days where the stutter consumes his thought process when he’s under pressure & I’ve seen if before, so the hell what compared to who he is running against?
He has a cabinet, he has a VP, he can resign after winning. Dropping now would bring an election auto fail own goal, and you shouldn’t be calling for it because that’s exactly what the right wants. It’s four months until the election, we have a campaign to win so buckle up kids and set the controls for the heart of the sun.

Imagine the looks you would get if you traveled back to 2004 and told folks that in 20 years the Supreme Court would rule that DONALD FUCKING TRUMP of all people would be immune from criminal prosecution.

In honor of today’s British elections, here’s the only election coverage you need…

Blackadder election results

Vincent Hanna was a well-known political journalist out of Northern Ireland - a nice in-joke getting him to basically portray himself in this scene.

Such was Hanna’s identification with by-elections that in 1987 he was a guest star in Blackadder the Third, reporting on S. Baldrick’s victory at the rotten borough of Dunny-on-the-Wold in the episode “Dish and Dishonesty” (and credited as “his own great-great-great-grandfather”).

Here’s the New York Times website, still obsessing about Biden’s debate performance.

The Supreme Court’s ruling granting Trump immunity from criminal prosecution is no longer anywhere on the front page.

That’s another thing I meant to mention earlier - do you remember how, during the convicted felon’s administration, his social media minions would constantly harangue journalists with your so biased against trump because you haven’t covered [insert story benefiting trump here]!!1!1 And then the media personality (Jake Tapper was especially bad for this) would go out of their way to say, “Nuh-uh, we did so cover it, here’s the link!”

Do you see the pattern? It was a crude but highly effective way to get the corporate media boosting stories that helped trump and hurt Democrats.

Now, what do you think would happen if we all did the same thing? “Hey, where’s your coverage of the SCOTUS ruling? Where’s your coverage of Project 2025?” My guess is, they’d simply ignore you or otherwise blow you off (but on the offchance I’m wrong, it might be a way to finally get some visibility to the coverage that needs it).

re: #27 Joe Bacon ✅

Sadly, the idea that money is free speech was likely an element of the Founders’ beliefs.

We keep forgetting that in the middle to late 18th century the society was one in which landowners and the merchant class really were the ones with freedoms.

Everyone else, not so much.

The kind of egalitarian democracy which is your belief system is a development that has happened over the centuries.

I keeps saying this: we need to update the Constitution.

And that is why the Roberts court keeps finding justification for atavism: they are just bringing forward sentiments from the 18th century.

How Many of the Signers of the U.S. Constitution Were Enslavers?

According to the Gilder Lehrman Institute for American History, “about 25” delegates enslaved people, of the 55 who attended the convention’s proceedings in Philadelphia. The Constitutional Rights Foundation asserts that 17 of the 55 delegates were enslavers and together held about 1,400 enslaved people. In addition to identifying James Madison as an enslaver, Signers of the Constitution, published in 1976 by the National Park Service, notes that 11 other signers “owned or managed slave-operated plantations or large farms,” and then it names them: Richard Bassett, John Blair, William Blount, Pierce Butler, Daniel Carroll, Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, Charles Pinckney, Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, John Rutledge, Richard Dobbs Spaight, and George Washington. It is also known that Benjamin Franklin enslaved people.

35
Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus  Jul 4, 2024 • 12:25:12pm

If it were not for the 13th Amendment, the Roberts court today would be defending the right to own slaves.

CNN is claiming Biden told the governors that he was tired and wasn’t going to schedule any campaign events past 8 pm. Is there any other source for this, and do we know when Trump’s events end?

39
Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus  Jul 4, 2024 • 12:29:29pm

So we celebrate this day, the 4th day of July, for the Declaration of Independence. But we should remember:

Fact-check: They signed the Declaration of Independence — but nearly three-quarters also owned slaves

[…] Parsa claims that 34 of the 47 founding fathers shown in the painting were slaveholders.

With the caveat that there is no one definitive source on this question, we also counted 34.

[…]

“Freedom” has always been about money.

And democracy originated in a Greek city state that limited votes to a few.

Beware anachronistic views of the past.

Yep. Geri Reischl is her name and she portrayed Jan Brady in nine episodes of The Brady Bunch Hour during the 1976-77 TV season.

She was supposed to play Blair in The Facts of Life, but had to give up the role due to a conflicting contract.

It’s difficult to tell in the low-res 1970’s video, but something seemed off to me in the still shot from the video. Heh. I learned something today.

She actually has singing talent. There was a fake Cindy on one of the movies, then the actors found out that contractually there could be a stand in actor or actress playing one of the kids. But, there couldn’t be two replacements….they used that as a bargaining measure for more money.

“Real Jan” came back for “The Brady Girls Get Married” and “The Brady Brides” and 1990’s depressing “The Bradys,” which instead gave us “Fake Marcia” (Leah Ayres), but no one remembers her existence the way they do “Fake Jan.”

1988’s “A Very Brady Christmas” gave us “Fake Cindy” (Jennifer Runyon), so all the Brady girls have been recast at one time or another in reunion projects.

The show was retooled between the first and second seasons, and the Molly Parker character was written out, along with quite a few others.
