A Palestinian Red Crescent driver has been sentenced to prison for smuggling weapons and explosive belts in his ambulance. The Associated Press, of course, gives equal weight to the weasel words of a Palestinian liar:
Palestinian medical official Mustafa Barghouti said that Jibril’s case was the only one that Israeli military prosecutors had been able to prove, but the army made constant use of it to justify stopping ambulances at roadblocks and shooting medical staff.
“They are using this case all the time to justify their attacks, ” he said. Barghouti said that since the Sept 2000 outbreak of Israeli-Palestinian fighting there have been 120 incidents of Israeli gunfire hitting Palestinian ambulances, in which 21 doctors and nurses were killed.
