Now with Unbreakable Spambot Protection
Today I implemented a new email protection system that I defy any no good address-harvesting spambot to break, now or ever. When you click on any email link in our comments, you’ll see a page that asks you to enter a six-digit random code—in reverse—before you can proceed to launching your email client. The trick: the code is displayed by PHP image functions. It isn’t text, it’s a graphic—and the actual number appears nowhere in the page source. To crack this system, a spambot would have to include Optical Character Reading algorithms. Ain’t gonna happen.

Sharing your email address with other LGF users when you comment is now about as safe as possible. LGF: doing our best to protect you from the spammers. (Thanks to Eric Meyer for suggesting the idea.)
