The European Union will not do anything to act against the “political wing” of Hamas.
The United States has been demanding that the EU take broad action against Hamas, but while Italy supported this position, ambassadors from other countries, including France, said that such a move at the present time would likely harm the peace process.
Thursday’s EU meeting ended without a decision and no date was set for another discussion on the issue.
