The Fifth Column Wants Americans to Die
John Hawkins has been turning over rocks at far left web sites, and look what crawled out from under Yellow Times: an example of just how far removed from human decency the left has gotten, in an article by Gabriel Ash (whose work appears regularly at moonbat web sites like Counterpunch, Al Jazeera, and Jihad Unspun) titled How to make America get it, in which Ash openly supports the killing of American troops in Iraq.
And that’s not even the worst part of this foul piece of work. Ash suggests that the way to “make America get it” is for Iraqi guerillas to start murdering civilian contractors as well:
While Iraqis have every right to shoot and kill occupation soldiers, that isn’t necessary the most effective way to influence George Bush. Quite a few of the people who fund Bush’s election campaign are involved in the latest corporate gold rush (“reconstruction”) in Iraq. Attacking their interests might be a quicker way to get the president into listening mode. The lives of American soldiers are dear, but four more years in the White House are priceless.
Even in the most idiotic days of my youth, I would never have dreamed of writing something so ugly and evil-minded. It’s becoming disturbingly clear that we have nurtured and tolerated in this country a class of people who are truly an enemy within, whose moral vision is so askew that their own countrymen’s lives are seen as expendable for political gain, and who take their freedoms and privileges so much for granted that they blithely make common cause with murderers and monsters.
UPDATE: This viewpoint is apparently considered so run-of-the-mill that Ash’s article is also posted at mainstream left-wing site The Smirking Chimp.
