Indian police say siege at Taj over
MUMBAI, India - Commandos killed the two militants making a last stand at the Taj Mahal hotel Saturday, Police Chief Hasan Ghafoor said, ending days of terror that left more than 150 people dead.
“The Taj operation is over. The last two terrorist holed up there have been killed,” Ghafoor told The Associated Press.

MUMBAI, India (AP) - India’s top news organizations are quoting senior police officials as saying that the standoff at the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai has ended.
Commandos can be seen milling around in front of the hotel and, for the first time, fire engines and ambulances openly pulled up to the entrance.
The New Delhi TV news channel is quoting J.K. Dutt, director general of India’s elite National Security Guard commando unit, and Mumbai Police Chief Hasan Ghafoor as saying the gunbattle is over.
Several other news organizations, including the Press Trust of India news agency, also reported an end to the fighting.
More than 150 people were killed in the violence that started when assailants attacked 10 sites across India’s financial capital Wednesday night. Fifteen foreigners were among the dead.
