It appears that Senator Jim Bunning is becoming so frustrated with his own re-election effort that he may forego retirement at the end of his term and just resign.
Bunning is up for re-election in November of 2010, but if he were to resign Kentucky’s Democratic Governor Steve Beshear would appoint a replacement. At that point, Beshear could appoint a Democrat who would be the long sought 60th vote in the U.S. Senate for President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
