Mainstreaming Anti-Semitism through popular culture
Friends,
A “comedy” cartoon show, Family Guy, had one of its characters sing a song called: “I Need a Jew.”
The assumption is that Jews know all about money, and “even though they killed my Lord, I need a Jew.”
Haaretz reports that “The FOX “Family Guy” series produced an episode entitled “When You Wish Upon a Weinstein” which featured a song called “I
Need a Jew.” One of the lyrics: “Even though you killed my Lord, I need a Jew.”
I saw this clip, you can too. I WAS OFFENDED AND DISGUSTED.
If this kind of blatant anti-Semitism is now so deeply entrenched in American popular culture that Americans can’t even understand how deeply offensive it is, then Jews in America are in deep, deep trouble.
