Mine, too! And we won't have to worry about mercury spills, etc., and those twisty bulbs. We have a stockpile of real bulbs...shhh, don't tell Obama! He will send his Secret Police after us!

Does anyone here realize the enormous amount of materials and energy that go into making a curly florescent bulb? The electronics alone consume an incredible amount of electricity and rare materials such as silver and mercury. This is why 100% are made in China. And it still cost a fortune, and lives about as long as an incandescent bulb in spite of claims. BTW, when the Dems pass an energy bill, the cost of it will drive all American manufacturing overseas.

Here in California florescent bulbs are classified as hazardous waste and must be dropped off at a hazardous waste collection site (a real pain). I have a broken one sitting in my garage right now in a plastic bag waiting for the next trip (its so tempting to just toss it in the regular trash).

By the way, when it broke I didn't take the "experts" advice and evacuate the area, I just gathered a broom and swept up the stuff. I've been around enough broken ones in the past I'm concerned (then again, maybe that explains the way I am). I remember as a kid working cleaning up classrooms when we had an 8 foot bulb to get rid of we went and opened up the top of a six foot dumpster, took a few steps back and threw it in like a javelin.
