Holocaust survivor lives to share his, and others’, stories so history will not repeat itself
EL PASO — It was 25 years ago that Henry Kellen decided he could no longer keep the horrors of his youth to himself.
A growing movement at that time claimed the Holocaust never happened, and it was just too much for Kellen.
He lived those horrors.

Now at 94, Kellen is grateful to be a living history of the atrocities of the Holocaust. He is grateful for the longevity of the once-small museum dedicated to the memory of the millions who perished during the Nazis’ extermination efforts of World War II.
It was 25 years ago that Kellen established a small memorial that would grow to become the El Paso Holocaust Museum and Study Center.
“I never thought I’d be at the 25th beautiful commemoration of the museum,” its founding father said. “It’s really hard to believe.”
