Ask Christheprofessor about it. He had it done a few months ago, and seems quite pleased!

I need glasses to find my glasses. Severely myopic also, but wear contacts when I go out.

I absolutely HATED it. My aunt loves it. You can try out the monovision thing with two different contact lens prescriptions. Fortunately I did try it out before I had the surgery.

…supposedly the monovision can later be changed with a correction procedure, where both eyes would be good at distance, but then I would need reading glasses. They suggested trying the monovision first, then have it changed 6 months down the road, if I don’t like it.
What scares the #%@# out of me is reading all the disclaimers on the stuff that can go wrong, and/or discomforts that could last for a couple of months.
