Campbell Soup Co. Recalls 15 Million Pounds Of SpaghettiOs Due To Possible Underprocessing - wbztv.com
Uh oh SpaghettiO!
Campbell Soup Co. is recalling 15 million pounds of SpaghettiOs with meatballs due to possible underprocessing.
The Agriculture Department announced the recall late Thursday.
The company is recalling certain lots of three varieties of the pasta product often consumed by children: SpaghettiOs with Meatballs, SpaghettiOs A to Z with Meatballs, and SpaghettiOs Fun Shapes with Meatballs (Cars).
The recall dates back to December 2008.
According to the Campbell website, all of the cans involved are 14.75-ounce cans.
Any of these cans with a “Use By” date between June 2010 and December 2011 with the plant code EST4K are affected by the recall. They were produced in Paris, Texas and shipped nationwide.
The company says there is no indication that any underprocessed product has reached consumers.
The problem was discovered through a routine warehouse inspection and subsequent investigation, the company says.
Campbell Soup says it is collecting all three varieties of product from stores.
It adds that people who have bought these products should not eat them and return the cans to the store where they bought them for an exchange or refund.
