Stupid lies about Israeli attack on Syrian tank.
It has been several weeks since I looked over at the village of the banned. The point of this post is to illustrate how dangerous idiots can claim dangerous lies again and again even when proven wrong by their own “evidence.”
Over at the village, there is an entire thread dedicated to the dangerous lie that Israel attacked and destroyed the lead tank in a Syrian column approaching an Israeli settlement. If this were true, this would be a major international incident.
In complete, was the following text, which Snork presented as true:
Gentlemen,
What you are about to watch is an actual event. Our forces filmed this in actual time. What you are about to see is a fully armored Syrian tank being hit by an Israeli laser-guided, steel-penetrating, phosphorous-filled “hand held” rocket. The rocket is small, very portable and is a tightly controlled weapon, each one is accounted for when they are checked out and back in. There must be no fewer than 2 soldiers present to verify the use, one must be a senior officer with a minimum of 10 years military service. (Sorry, the name and program is kept secret.)
This tank was headed for one of Israel ‘s settlements, there were four more tanks one mile to the rear of this tank. (They turned around before getting to this area.)
You can hear the ammunition going off after the initial strike. No tank member survived this event. this event did not make the news, it is an everyday event for our forces and we do not “embed” news sources with our armed forces like the Americans do. This is for our survival, not for “news” entertainment!

Now if you watch the video, the first thing you hear is that this is from an English program (not some Israelis filming it) about a test on an unmanned (British) tank. In fact, it is an older centurion tank, and the test is quite old and has been in other British documentaries.

So why do I bring this?
Well, Snork is the chief scientist over at the village of the banned. He is typical of most right wing science deniers, so this is a very good example of how such idiots go about denying obvious facts and spinning ever more silly fantasies to cover their foolishness when clearly proven wrong.
One should already note that the very first part of the video (which was posted by an Israeli) had some Hebrew. Therefore, on the basis of that alone, and not the actual content, he concludes this must be an Israeli video and his “story” is true. Actually listening to the content of something he posts is beyond him. This is common when these fools cherry pick a scientific paper that has a phrase they “like” in the title, but then ignore that the paper completely says the opposite of what the hopeful denier claims it does.
But this gets better… Even at the village, not everyone bought this crap.
Let’s see how he deals with simple, obvious and basic evidence contrary to his “facts.”

Except the sound with the video clearly seems to indicate that this is a test of the weapon on an unmanned but ammo filled tank. And the voice definetaly does NOT sound Israeli.

I noticed that, too. But the terrain sure looks like the Golan.
Really? It looks like an overcast part of Northern Europe. No one who has been in the north of Israel or the Golan region - with its vinyards would think that! But Snork is the sort who will pile one lie on top of another!

Let me clarify something. The video that came with the viral email was a .wmv that we have no easy way to post here. The youtube looked like the attached .wmv, but it may not be the exact same video. Click on the youtube, and you can see that it’s Israeli, though.
No, an Israeli poster at you tube, posted this video, which itself was clearly not from Israel. The Hebrew says “tank hit by mnt” I do not know the word “mnt.” It is likely an acronym. The Hebrew word for missile is “til.”
But something else to notice, Snork is admitting something…
Well guys, the “evidence” I presented of the incident that I claim happened recently, is actually something I found on you tube that may not be the same evidence at all, but looks like it if you could see it. If you agree with my story then this is real! It fits my story and should be accepted as true… After all, there was Hebrew in the title and the footage looked the same!
The true believer is not weighed down by little details like his “evidence” of a claim not being even remotely related to the claim at all - even when he admits to fabricating the connection himself!
We can forgive Snork for not knowing Hebrew.

Parts of it are as flat as Kansas. That was the most striking thing after climbing that highway from the south (in first gear all the way up).
In reality, it is a plateau that was seized because artillery or short range rockets up there can (and once did) hit all over Northern Israel. It does have fields in certain parts, but no one would call it flat. Go look at the photo of the actual Golan in this post again… No one who was actually ever there would claim that the Golan is flat.
So here is a perfect portrait of the chief “scientist” over at the hate site. He is one of the most stupid and outrageous AGW deniers I have ever dealt with. He frankly lies so much that even casually admitting that he fabricated his evidence does not strike him as admitting a lie. He honestly sees nothing wrong with such behavior.
He makes an outrageous claim, based on something he wants to believe.
His own stuff clearly shows he is full of crap. He makes up more crap and lies some more in order to reinforce his original lie. Each lie is just obviously and demonstrably false, and easily proven as such.
Any secondary thought about it also shows he is full of crap. Yet the lies keep coming.
This is exactly how the far right does science as well.
And that is the point.
