My pleasure. It’s always nice to be reminded once in a while of the good people out there who work quietly to build up instead of tear down.

Well, that was hands down the best 8 minutes of my day.

Thanks for posting CL!

I love this too. I retweeted(via Stanley Michelle) it to my peeps or tweeps…or whatever you call them.

This is beautiful, just beautiful.

“Life is too precious to be upset”.

I know you don’t get upset during discussions here often, but if it ever looks like you’re getting riled up (or you see me doing so), I’m hereby making “Skidboot” our official code word to remind each other it’s not worth it.

I would prefer the term Humanity.

To each his own, what a remarkable animal and what a lucky man.

You’d prefer the term humanity in place of what?

In place of religion.

Love, based on something other than a god.

re: #10 CarleeCork

I thought that might be what you meant, but I didn’t want to assume.

Knowing that there are many atheists on LGF, I actually started to to qualify what I’d said while I was writing the page by saying that he’s a wonderful human being, but I decided against at the last minute.

I didn’t do so because I don’t think he could be just as loving, humble, etc. if he was an atheist, but because God was his context when he spoke about his outlook on life. His demeanor also provides a sharp contrast to some of the ugliness that’s been coming from the religious right lately.

I don’t care what road someone travels to arrive at being a decent, loving person. If they walk down the path of a religion, that’s fine by me. If not, that’s also fine by me.

So, yeah, to each his own, but context is context and I see no rational reason to omit it. Had he not mentioned God or spoken about ministry, I wouldn’t have mentioned it either. Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed the story.
