“Joel Cheatwood, an executive who oversees Beck’s show, issued a statement yesterday saying, “We’re not going to comment on something that’s hypothetical as we have not heard about this complaint.”

Now if it were me, I might actually you know, apologize for the threats this woman received due to the program I oversee, but then again, I’m big on common sense that way.

Also, Beck makes fun of a member of the league of women voters for having “Czar” in her name? Really? I guess I better tell my neighbor Robert Left to watch his back.

I also want to say I think it’s a matter of time until someone is MURDERED based upon something Beck/Limbaugh/Geller/Breitbart says and I’ll be very curious to see the fallout when that happens.

Beck is reprehensible. I cannot watch nor listen to him, I’ve had my fill many years ago and that was before he was touched by insanity, or whatever he thinks happened to his soul, if he had one to begin with. Beck is going to get someone killed and then just look at the camera and say something smarmy like, “Well what did you expect?”
Rush and Beck are in the business of demonizing and business is good. Reprehensible toads.

I am telling you, just wait, once these people feel empowered by winning in this midterm…crazy, crazy shit is going to go down. And then, it is going to be too late to be concerned and take them seriously.

I don’t understand the many comments about not doing absolutely anything necessary to keep these people out of power. The next two years are going to be very shocking.

Yes I hate to pull a Godwin here but Glenn Beck sounds like the Goebbels of the American right wing here.

He also sounds like a kid who is still working out his resentment of teachers.

I think it was yesterday, when channel surfing, I saw him ranting about the Tides Foundation again. You’d think after his last Tides-rant inspired a viewer to attempt shooting up the place, he might leave that one alone…

So if I’m not mistaken, these people think it’s there inherent right to demand that the pledge of allegiance be said aloud just because there’s a bunch over zealous, anally retentive tea baggers in one room? When has any debate commenced reciting the allegiance? Let’s draw from the presidential debates as a standard, since I don’t know, it’s the most important political debate in our country. Can anyone recall when a pledge of allegiance was performed for one of those? Clearly these people are resorting to these antics to try and corroborate their suspicions that their opponents are pinko commies who must be outed for their refusal to say a redundant statement that really says nothing. If you want school children to recite it so they know and learn that they’re American and to respect the country/flag that’s one thing (we also have to remind children to brush their teeth, not hit others, or steal toys—every day) but to do this as adults, and have this act as some kind of litmus test is dumb in every public setting is dumb and a waste of time.

“Hey, Glenn, why don’t you open your show with the Pledge of Allegiance, you know, just so we can be sure of your loyalty?”
“Are you insane? It’s not in the script, time is money and it takes about seven seconds. Nobody’s ever done that.”
“It wasn’t in the LoWW debate script either. You know, ‘cause nobody’s ever done that in a major debate.”
“That’s different. My loyalty is not in doubt. They’re lefties and and women besides. They ought to know they’re under suspicion and try to dispel it. What are they hiding?”
“When are you going to Iraq, Glenn?”
“What are YOU hiding?”

It’s going to be even worse if they don’t do as well as they hope.

This will prove their paranoid delusions and they feel they’ll have to resort to violence as that’s the only way they can get the power they want.

The next few years are not going to be fun. I’m hoping the body count will be that of a terrorist campaign and not a war.

It only takes one or two. The new Timothy McVeigh is out there, somewhere, plotting and planning even now.

Did you forget about Dr. Tiller? How many times do you think O’Reilly referred to him as Tiller the baby killer?

Indigenous Americans Ruled Democratically Long Before the U.S. DidDemocracy: it was older and more widespread than we thought. At the Oconee site, called Cold Springs, artifacts were excavated before the valley became an aquatic playground. Now, new older-than-expected radiocarbon dates for those museum-held finds push back the origin ...
