James Firecat’s page to restore Sanity….
So I went to the rally to restore sanity today.
For background information, first and foremost I got my hair cut at 10:00 and my dad at 10:30 before we and my mom drove down to the metro, my older brother would have been with us as well but he was going to be attending the rally with some of his friends.
The metro ride took much longer than normal, because each and stop left us cursing those brave brave fools who insisted on trying to jam themselves into a car to the point that we no longer needed to grab the metal bars since we were all held in place by one another’s bodies.
We got off the metro at around 12:20 and started walking towards the rally.
It was at this point that i had what for me was probably the most stirring moment of the rally.
While much of the rally itself was rather painfully cramp, there was something incredibly epic and stirring about watching people work their way towards it from all across the capital mall from many different directions, it was like the political version of a Million Mook March tvtropes.org.
So yeah the rally was cramped.
Really cramped. It doesn’t help that I was short, but seriously the rally was so cramped that if you got there at the time we did you needed binoculars in order to see the jumbo trons. You guys who were watching it from the comfort of your homes DOUBTLESSLY saw much more than I did, and probably heard much more than I did.
But that’s okay because I was there to be seen and counter more than to hear bits of Jon Stewart’s new material.
I stayed until 2:50 and headed back, I’m not sure what I accomplished by going, but it was doubtlessly the right thing to do…
Anyway some pictures that my dad took….
Ummm… er… uh… this is going to be problematic since the pics I now realize are all about 10 MB large since they’ve been retouched and edited and what not… so please stand by while I upload them to dev art just to link back to them to them….
