WikiLeaks: 1,796 US memos from Manila

MANILA, Philippines - A total of 1,796 of the more than 250,000 diplomatic cables sent by US embassies around the globe between 1966 and February this year – and made available online by WikiLeaks – came from Manila.
Online whistle-blower WikiLeaks, an organization devoted to revealing secret documents, has drawn condemnation from the US government for its revelations.The American mission in Manila is the 44th among the 274 embassies and consulates around the world and the fourth in Southeast Asia with the biggest number of cables that had leaked.

I’m quite surprised how little traffic there was considering we were practically a puppet/client state for much of the Cold War…then again, I suppose we were ‘loyal’ enough that we didn’t need to communicate much.
