I wonder what would happen if I tried to get tax dollars for a Muslim theme park...

Like the Cordoba House project, the merits of any request for public subsidy should be based solely on the secular benefit derived from the project.

Personally I doubt if this project can employ 900 people and attract almost 2 million visitors, but I could be wrong. Hopefully folks who oppose this project will make sure the subsidies aren't based on inflated, bogus numbers (rather than opposing it because of religious bigotry). I think the idea of a Noah's Ark theme park is pretty benign, but this idiocy of humans living with dinosaurs and the damage that idea could do to public education should be fair game.

In this case, any tourist dollar and employment benefit is grossly out-weighed by the damage done to education.

It is truly embarrassing to have the Creation Museum in the area (less than five miles from Greater Cincinnati International Airport), but at least that was built with private funds. Locating this "theme park" a little farther away is good, but using public funds is absurd. Given Kentucky's abysmal record in education, you'd think they'd be better off spending a few more dollars there.

Sad, but not surprising.

I dare these fundie hillbillies to build a science center.

Over the years the Seattle Science Center has had millions of visitors. That's a SCIENCE center, not some flatearther backasswards fundie crap.
