Tsunami warning as 6.5 quake rattles Japan

A TSUNAMI advisory has been issued after a 6.5 earthquake off Japan, 3AW says, quoting the Japan Meteorological Agency.
The tsunami height is expected to be 0.5m for the Pacific coast of Miyagi prefecture, which was devastated by the huge earthquake and tsunami that hit on March 11. The quake was described as “very shallow”.
The ABC says the undersea earthquake struck near the east coast of Honshu, Japan.
There is no tsunami threat to Australia.
