Here is Revelations 8:8, the passage he's basing this on:

Revelation 8:8 (New International Version, ©2011)

8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood,

I like when you post Robertson stuff.

The Twilight Zone theme starts playing in my head. I've always like that kind science fiction.

Anything for you, my dear!
I love TZ too. Jimmah just downloaded a bunch of episodes. We'll have to get back to watching them.

Man I still get chills from that. I remember that culture war speech and it scared the CRAP out of me.

The guy really is psycho- not in a major way, but rather in a more sublime way.

Major nut jobs are easy to deal with. Guys like Robertson are much more difficult because they can seem so reasonable so much of the time.

He'll talk about helping the poor, feeding children and other really worthwhile endeavors no one can argue with. Then he goes off the deep end ends with, 'When we come I want to talk about improving literacy in minority communities and getting volunteers to help with college applications in those communities'.

Therein lies the real dangers of Pat Robertson, ideologue.

A major bolide impact on Liberty University would be something of an improvement, although the following massive world wide fires from the 800 degree day (billions of tons of ejecta re-entering the atmosphere causing a thermal energy spike) followed by cosmic winter would kinda suck.

re: #4 negativ

That is the first time i have ever seen that clip. Wow. But then again, most of his followers are probably homophobes as well, so he probably did not come off looking bad to them.

What's interesting is his law school, Regent is tier 4 I believe and yet there were dozens of Regent graduates in the Bush DoJ. I mean obviously you can't have all Ivy Leaguers or even a majority but really, Regent? Oh and Pat Robertson continues to be an embarrassment to the state of Virginia.

Nah, Pat is just trying to hawk the latest addition to his extensive line of nutriceutical, Bible-based health care supplements: Preparation A (shrinks asteroids).

can anybody who knows the christian bible tell me what revelations even is? i didn't say any of that stuff, so what is it even doing in there?

This is pretty strong evidence that Robertson doesn't really believe his own crap. It's a Freudian slip. He knows that of course the Earth is really a few billion years old and the dinosaurs were wiped out millions of years ago most likely by an asteroid impact. I'm sure he probably accepts on some level that humans evolved, too.

Silly SpaceJesus, it's an example of apocalyptic writing, following the model of the Book of Daniel. You should know your Jewish literary genres.

Somewhere out there, the writers at The Onion are laughing.

Have you never heard the term Cognitive Dissonance? It happens to millions every Sunday, then back to reality Monday through Saturday.
