Cameraman arrested over Church bomb plot
Indonesian police said on Saturday they had arrested a television news cameraman who had been hired by a terror cell to film a foiled church bombing for international broadcast.
National police spokesperson Boy Rafli Amar said the man was arrested on Friday in Jakarta, bringing the total suspects held over the plot to 20.
“They wanted the blast to be broadcast internationally, as if television networks would like to broadcast it. But that was just their idea,” Amar told reporters.
Anti-terror police defused five bombs placed around a church in Serpong on the outskirts of Jakarta on Thursday, and said the attackers had planned to activate them on Good Friday morning.
