The police chief in my city said the ruling was ridiculous and that his dept would not change their protocols on home searches at all. then again I live in a pretty democratic district.

I'm a liberal by philosophy. You come into my house uninvited without a warrant and wearing a gun, you leave after a corpsman has matched up the tag on your big toe with the card on the outside of the bag.

"There is no need to use profanity at me sir. I don't see why your being so hostile when all I'm asking is to have a look around your home."

"You aren't allowed to enter my home without a warrant, thats why!"

"Your mistaken there sir, the Indiana Supreme Court has ruled that we do have the right. Frankly sir, from our point of view only criminals and people trying to hide illegal activities would object to us simply having a look around."

"I don't give a damn what you think, you can't enter my house without a warrant!"

"Sir I already asked you once not to use profanity towards me, you becoming so agitated at the simple request to inspect your home is just giving me reason to claim probable cause to search your residence."

"What the fuck are you talking about? I'm just demanding my rights! This isn't Communist Russia or Nazi Germany, this is the United States!"

"Allright sir, I'm going to have to demand that you stand aside and let us enter the dwelling, I am also placing you under arrest for interfering with a police investigation and refusal to comply with lawful police orders."

"Lawful orders? What lawful orders you fucking Nazi?"

"Your use of profanity sir. I already told you twice to not use profanity towards me sir, your only making it worse for yourself, now step aside and let us enter, I don't want to have to use my Tazer on you..."
