Left-wing rebels kill 10 security personnel in India
India ‘s left-wing Naxal rebels killed 10 security personnel in the central state of Chhattisgarh in the wee hours of Friday, less than 24 hours after they killed four security men in the same state, said police.
“Seven Special Police Officers and three constables are among the dead. Three injured constables have already been shifted to the district hospital at Jagdalpur,” additional Director General of Police Ramniwas told the media in Raipur, the state capital of Chhattisgarh.
The 10 security personnel were killed when the rebels blew up an anti-landmine vehicle, using powerful explosives at Gatam near Katekalyan in the Maoist-infested Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, he said, adding the securitymen were traveling for a search operation when the incident happened.
A massive manhunt has been launched to track down the culprits, the official added.
