Philly man who threatened Lieberman out on bail
What a crazy lunatic. How did he get out of jail?
A Philadelphia man who was arrested a week ago for allegedly threatening U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) was released on bail Tuesday afternoon. Dmitri Dyatlov’s computer will be monitored electronically and he can’t leave his apartment. He will remain in custody until authorities set up the monitoring system.
An FBI arrest affidavit filed in federal magistrate court on August 3 said that Dyatlov, 23, an information technology consultant, posted a blog threat to “shoot (Lieberman) in the face (many times)…”
Dyatlov allegedly offered three reasons for shooting Lieberman: That he was liberal, didn’t like Marilyn Manson (or Eminem) and was a member of the ‘Security’ committee,” presumably referring to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs, of which Lieberman is chairman.
The FBI interviewed Dyatlov, who was born in Uzbekistan but is a U.S. citizen, last week at his apartment on South 22nd Street near Sansom. He allegedly told the agents that he hated Lieberman and did not like his political views, but had no intention of carrying out any of threats he posted but said he did not care if somebody else killed the senator, the arrest affidavit said.
After leaving the apartment, agents checked Dyatlov’s Facebook page and found Dyatlov had posted a message about the FBI’s visit. “A couple Fbi folks…knock on my door, and come into my apartment home because I told them that Joe Lieberman is a sick f-k who should be shot in the face many times (on my blog) Hallelujah! You guys are just in time! Anyway, they said im on their radar. Okey? Fine….,” the arrest affidavit said.
