Charles Krauthammer on Faster than light neutrinos
Charles Krauthammer wrote a piece in the washington post “Gone is 60 nanoseconds.
I read Krauthammer for a view on the world I pretty much never agree with, but at least can be assured is honest (if not smarting).
He writes about the CERN discovery (that has yet to be confirmed) of particles that seem to be traveling faster than the speed of light. This has been assumed to be impossible since Einstein’s theories became the popular paradigm.
The sum up is classic Krauthammer: concise, unequivocal, and insightful:
But there must be some error. Because otherwise everything changes. We shall need a new physics. A new cosmology. New understandings of past and future, of cause and effect. Then shortly and surely, new theologies.
But you should read the entire article; THIS is how someone writes when they are inspired; not, as is Krauthammer’s typical motive: ala Ayn Rand: contempt and desire to strike pain in all those that have any differing philosophy.
