I'm sure the "comments" section for this piece is going to crash Fox's site.

And Newt Gingrich, the smartest of all the Republicans

This says a lot, and none of it good.

It's a shame Hunstman will never have a shot, seeing he is the ONLY candidate who appears to be both intelligent and not crazy, nor a creep; an extreme rarity among the GOP species. You would hope that those bass line characteristics wouldn't be far and few among presidential contenders.

re: #2 publicityStunted

I saw that, and stopped reading the article to my wife for a few seconds. My mind went "Does not compute!" and it took a bit for it to reboot.

He's a rich Mormon who willingly resigned his governorship to work for the Seekrit Mooslim Kenyan Commie Overlord and who knows a language that isn't English. That alone disqualifies him forever with the wingnuts.

Sad, really. He's the only one in the GOP I would have considered voting for in 2016.

A little over a year ago, I put the President's odds at retaining office at 5-to-1 against. People all over the place were seriously pissed, and ain't none of them were blaming the GOP. The buck stops where it always does: the man in charge.

Now that the GOP has skin in the game? People all over the place are pissed, and they're blaming everyone equally. The much ballyhooed 9% Congressional Approval Rating, the lukewarm acceptance of the various GOP Contenders, the rise of a counter-Tea-Party in OWS, and the fact that the President's total approval rating have stayed in the mid-40% range all year all adds up to a significant change over the last year.

My current odds? Obama retains 4-3. The GOP had a significant shot at changing the game for 2012. But they let themselves screw it all up.
