The WashTimes editorial page rightly takes the US State Department for UPGRADING China’s standing Country Reports on Human Rights Practices from worst to not the worst. The WashTimes editors point out that — other than a “charm offensive” in the run-up to up-coming Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, Chinese rulers have done nothing in the way they treat political dissidents and prisoners to merit this very convenient upgrade in their status.
