She should offer the doctors chickens for her cancer treatment.

Takes a big person to admit that they're wrong. I'm sorry that it took getting diagnosed with breast cancer for her to realize it though.

That poor woman.

Jezebel is completely wrong - she didn't attack ObamaCare. She supported Obama and only started criticizing him when she thought he wasn't doing enough for the middle class. Rather than opposing ObamaCare, she thought it wasn't enough, which is sort of the opposite of attacking it. She's apologizing for losing faith in him.

Which brings me to my apology. I was pretty mad at Obama before I learned about this new insurance plan. I had changed my registration from Democrat to Independent, and I had blacked out the top of the "h" on my Obama bumper sticker, so that it read, "Got nope" instead of "got hope." I felt like he had let down the struggling middle class. My son and I had campaigned for him, but since he took office, we felt he had let us down.

No, it's really not. She thought it wasn't enough, that it didn't achieve anything significant. That's attacking it.

I have some criticisms of Obama, but I didn't change my party affiliation or altered my bumper stickers.

The Right has so demonized Obama that if you voice support from him, you look like a fool and I think it's made people jump ship without thinking. It's a bully tactic and it works.

The truth is that without Obama, we would have hit a depression far worse than in the 1920s. No one is talking about that.

I think Obama's doing a fine job. 1000x better than any Republican could do.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think all the benefits kick in until 2014....

Yes, there are a few provisions that started, but the bulk of the provisions don't start until 2014.

For example, if she didn't already have insurance, she is not going to be entitled to get insurance. The Pre-Jan 2012 stuff if pretty basic.

I found that in ten seconds of googling. Why did you, since your knowledge of US politics is generally so shaky?

Exactly.
As soon as the gullible idiots get the actual benefits of the scheme and instead don't get ritually executed by a Kenyan in a witch doctor mask mask bearing a hammer and sickle - the sooner the approvals go BUMP

Even I know that the ability to deny someone coverage because of a pre-existing condition (this woman's issue) is now gone. Kids can also now stay on their parent's insurance until 26. Both of those are huge.

And it helps states like Vermont and Montana pursue single-payer with waivers which the president is certainly open to.

I knew that too, I'm not even on the same continental shelf.

Well it is less than clear.

[Link: www.healthcare.gov...]

Shows that Prohibiting Discrimination Due to Pre-Existing Conditions or Gender started in Jan of 2014.

2010 says Prohibiting Denying Coverage of Children Based on Pre-Existing Conditions.

and from your link:

if you currently have insurance coverage that doesn’t cover your medical condition or are enrolled in a state high risk pool, you are not eligible for the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan.

So if she has any insurance, and isn't covered for some reason, she can't get this coverage.
