Oh, they’re just Joos. If reuters doesn’t care, why should anyone else?

Just in case: /sarc

I mean, really. We hear about Israel’s every transgression, be it real, exaggerated, or even fabricated. (usually a grab-bag of all three)

But when someone fires rockets at Israel, nobody gives a damn.

Israel mistaken blows up an ambulance, and they call-off an entire war over it.

A bunch of hateful nuts fires lots and lots of rockets at civilians, while their respective governments makes no effort to stop them, (generously assuming they weren’t orchestrating the launches in the first place) and the world is like “meh, they had it coming.”

Nope, no prejudice here. Move along folks.

Okay, but the analogy is a little incomplete. What if the border between US and Mexico was not settled and some Texans were claiming and settling on land south of the Rio Grande? What if New Yorkers had occupied both sides of Niagara Falls and were condemning Canadian businesses and confiscating their property?

I do not see how any attempt to bring about peace can work while there are significant contingents on both sides who are opposed to the notion and are actively promoting conflict.

Oh, for the love of…

This border is settled…the Israelis want nothing to do with the Gaza Strip other than not being shot at from the other side of its border. As for your ‘analogy’, you’re placing the aggression on the wrong party. This would be as though Mexico were claiming Texas to the Nueces…or even all of Texas…it’s the Palestinian Arabs who are most dedicated to a one-state solution at this point, not the Israelis.

Bravo to the Tribune, quite likely America’s best newspaper!

I’d add to what Chrysicat said by noting an important difference: When those on the Israeli side who are actively promoting conflict attack Palestinian property or civilians, the Israeli government prosecutes them and pays compensation. When those on the Palestinian side who are actively promoting conflict attack Israeli property or civilians, the Palestinian Authority celebrates their actions and names streets and squares after them.

You have an incomplete knowledge of the history of the region.

The Israelis pulled out of Gaza 100%. That didn’t stop the missiles and rockets.

Israel is able to make peace, just as it did with Jordan and Egypt.

There simply is NO one who represents the so called Palestinians. Not Hamas, not Fatah, no one.

They are both illegal, and illegitimate now. As they both suffer from one election-itis…
