What about the burden of having to carry her rapist's baby, Rick? If she wants to have the kid, that's fine but she shouldn't be forced with that burden.

sickening

“I would do what every father must do. Counsel your daughter to do the right thing. You can make the argument that if she doesn’t have this baby, if she kills her child, that too could I would for damn sure ruin her life."

Being raped is no big deal. Being forced to carry the rapist's child is easy. But getting an abortion, that is traumatic. This message is brought to you by the same know-it-all bigot who thinks there is no difference between gay marriage and bestiality.

I swear the religious right's rationalizations are even more stupid and sickening than the dogma they're trying to rationalize in the first place.

"Rick Santorum = Pro life, Pro rape"

I highly recommend clicking over to the original article on Jezebel and reading the comments. They're eye-opening and excellent (especially the responses to one that seemed like trolling at the start, but turned out to be an honest opinion, simply grounded in ignorance).

Yep, it's a socially conservative male.

Rick Santorum: Rapists have more of a right to choose when to be fathers then women have to decide when to choose to be mothers.

Fuck him and fuck those who agree with him.

"Rick Santorum = Pro life, Pro rape"

It is not correct to say that Rick Santorum is 'pro-rape'. You can say he is effectively indifferent to the suffering of raoe victims if you wish, but he does support the arrest, trial and conviction, and imprisonment of those who commit rape, which can hardly make him 'pro-rape'.

I wonder if he believes they should have paternal rights to the offspring of their rapes that insists should be born?

Comments that only a white, right wing male could make.
SIGH!

I don't think he has ever been asked that question. I'd expect he'd answer "No!", but I cannot say for sure.

Well given the fact that going to prison doesn't automatically severe parental rights, maybe he should consider it. His daughter having to share custody with her rapist might be the outcome if such a , God forbid, ever arose.

Knowing Frothy, I would think he would counsel her to marry the rapist.

I wonder what he would say if the rapist were Mormon, atheist, Unitarian or Islamic???

That is absolutely not the case. I've kept an eye on Rick Santorum since 1994, and I am quite satisfied he'd never do such a thing as that.. A man who raped a daughter of his would be lucky that all he faced was the full force of the law. If he had to face the fury of her father and brothers, the question of his parental rights would not come up. Because no one would ever find the body.
