Catholic Diocese Ends Funding Over Gay Comments
Intolerance anyone? Time to stop giving to the organized Catholic Church and their charities since they are being exclusionary, time to look at their charitie’ s tax status as well.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento will no longer fund a charity for the homeless because the director spoke in support of abortion rights and gay marriage.
The Sacramento Bee (http://bit.ly/AENAWV) says as much as $10,000 a year will be pulled from the nonprofit Francis House.
The diocesan director of social services sent a letter last month to the Rev. Faith Whitmore. The letter said the diocese was ending two decades of funding because her public statements clash with teachings of the Catholic Church.
